I had the most amazing time in Birmingham at the NEC, apart from the side issue of rather too much snow, it was a fabulous opportunity to get my work seen, and also to meet lots of interesting/kind/interested people. It was brilliantly organised and I enjoyed very much meeting all the other finalists and thought it would be fun to show some of their work here, First up is Victoria Guy who was staying at the same hotel with her lovely mum, Victoria is a textile graduate, and was selected for her digital floral prints,
They reminded me of floral shoots in Bloom magazine….
Daniel Schofield who was the winner in the furniture category with his very clever, nifty, shifty desk, with sliding top to reveal storage beneath.
Alice Howard-Graham who was the winner of the peoples choice award with her graphic textiles based on urban architecture, and her brilliant photographs
Elsa Sandy with her fresh scandinavian feel lighting and table, and who is also a whizz at the whole networking conversation thingy which I still find a struggle.
That is it for this week, I will save the rest of the talented bunch for next week. I really need to get organised and contact all the people who left details in my contact book. and also to thank Tony Hollyer who co-ordinated the whole thing, I can’t thank him enough for his kindness and effort, in making it all go so well, Thank you.
