New Designers was great fun, lovely to meet some of you that I only know on twitter, and brilliant seeing all the fabulous work there, slightly mind-blowing when seen altogether! also some great feedback from people and lots of love for the cushions and Mooskins iPhone covers, some intriguing interest and altogether an exhausting and exhilarating experience. On Saturday, I drove to Guildford for the audition with Paul Martins Handmade Revolution, I was terribly anxious before hand, guzzling rescue remedy and stopped at a make-up counter for a professional application, and ended up feeling a little like a dolly, but I guess its a mask of sorts…….. I needn’t have worried ‘cos everyone was lovely and really helped put us at our ease, I met some other crafters with great work, among them KatyLou who does gorgeous appliqué pictures, and was interviewed for 3 minutes by a lovely textile expert, so easy that it seemed like only two seconds before they said thank you, we’ll let you know. The prize is something amazing that money can’t buy, so I am imaginating one of these things, any one of which would work for me, 1) an amazing mentor to help you as you start out for a year or two, 2) a studio of my very own to work in, which is bigger than the kitchen table, or 3) your work placed in an amazing shop. 4) buckets of cash, I know they said money can’t buy it but it sure would come in handy. I find out in a couple of weeks, so please cross your fingers for me…..
